The Fire Station

Last week Alec had a field trip for preschool, and we went to the Fire Station.  He and Tristan seemed to have a lot of fun, a long with the rest of the class.

TIME OUT FOR WOMEN

This week I had the chance to attend a wonderful event called Time Out For Women, with some great women that I am lucky enough to call my friends. We had a blast. The whole weekend was about Hope and having it in everything and keeping it no matter what is going on in our lives. We were challenged to write a list of our hopes down and post them to remember so we can remember them. I will say that I am still working on writing mine down, but maybe when I am done with them I will post them.
One Friday night was good. It was full of great speakers and fun music. My favorites from Friday night were:
Michael McLean
he was very funny, his songs were about his life and his new "calling" to be happy.

Mark Mabry
shared his new pictures and movie "Another Testament" and the story behind the pictures. It was very moving.

After Friday night's session the girls and I all went to Voodoo donuts!!! So we hoped on the Max Train and road it across the river to downtown and walked a couple block and got in line.

Then we went back to our hotel and played some cards and went to bed.

But Saturday was even better to me. There were talks that you just couldn't help but listen to, and you couldn't pull yourself away from even if you had to pee.

Merrilee Browne Boyack
was one of these people. I had to pee so bad, but I just couldn't stop listening to here. (no worries I made it in time) She is was very funny and had so much to be grateful for and yet could have lost hope so easily with everything she has gone through in the last couple years. I am very glad that she was there to share with us.

Hilary Weeks, one of my favorite LDS Musical Artist was there all day Saturday as well. And I had a chance to meet her and get my picture taken with her. She is so down to earth and nice. ( will post a couple videos)

My cuz Megan, Hilary Weeks and I

and then the last person to speak was:
Kris Belcher.
She is a very funny and inspirational person to listen to.

I feel very bless to be able to attend this and even more so to be able to attend this with such GREAT LDS WOMEN! I am truly grateful to be able to call them my friends!

Our Christmas Cards

So last year I started a new tradition with our cards, with them being a photo card. I know some people do them every year, and some that have done them once. Well last year I had taken some really good pictures of the kids outside in the yard with some leaves they had gathered from the neighborhood with the neighbor girl  to play in,  used Shutterfly.com. This year so far I haven't gotten any that I have found card worthy. Now I know its only the 2nd of November. But I am hoping to get them figured out and sent for and here before Thanksgiving so I can mail them out.
The one thing I have going for me as of now, is that I won a $350 photo session from a friend of a friend's business and that we are planing on doing them this weekend. I'm sure that she is gonna do a great job. Look for the post with all the wonderful pictures from that in the up coming weeks.
Now what I could use is some help deciding on which card style to pick from. Are you game to help?
Here are some I was thinking about....
