Until we see you again...

On Friday around 4pm I got a phone call from my Aunt Shirley saying that my Uncle Brooks was going to down hill and wouldn't make it until morning. He has been battleing a brain tumor for a few years now that was really doing much, and then decided that it wanted to grow and needed to be removed. So in March they removed all they could and were waiting for him to heal enough to start chemo and radiation.  Last month he got his shunt put it and since then has was battaling with his blood pressure.
Well the on May 4th in went in to the Dr. for a check and they decided to keep him and figure out what was wrong with him. It turned out to that is was a good thing. During the tests that they did the found out that his tumor had grown. Not just a little bit either. It was now double the size it was and bigger then it was to start with in March when they opened him up the first time. So as you can guess surgery was in store. On May 14th early in the morning they opened him once for the 4th time and removed 98% of the tumor and felt good about how it went. But only time would tell. They following week he started having problems with his blood pressure again, so they kept him sleeping. They found he had an infection, and took and sample and sent it to the labs.  Thursday May 20th the brought him to for the whole day and his blood pressure stayed stable the whole day and into the next morning. They were very glad to to see this and so they decided to take the shunt out. Well as soon as they opened it the say that his infection was on his brain. And they knew that it was Staff. But to double check they took a sample and as they sent it off the other results came back conforming that it was staff. So at this point he now had staff in his blood and on his brain. After a couple more tests they found that his lever and kenndys were already having problems with it. In the mean time he developed a blood caught in the brain as well. SO after along talk with the Drs and weighting out the odds my Aunt decided that it wouldn't be they way my Uncle would want to live, and that we would allow him to return to our Heavenly Father in Heaven.
SO Friday May 21st, Chris and I drove up to OHSU and said goodbye to my uncle. We we got there my older brother's were already there and we all got to talk and cry and remember the Uncle that we all knew. I am glad that I had the chance to say goodbye.
She kept him on Life support until my cousin Rhonda and husband Jim could arrive from Spokane WA, around 1:30am. Jim gave him a blessing and they unplugged life-support. Within a couple mins he was gone.
I know that he is now in heaven and full of like and is healthy and young again. I am so glad for the gospel and knowing that it is true!
